Anyone have a bin they use on an D16A6 for over 8psi? (turboedit)

I have a turbo d16a6 running TE, and it runs beautifully on rory's bin(s). Only problem is once it hits 8psi, boost cut. I've tried making my own basemaps but for some reason I'm retarded at doing so. Anyone had this problem and solve it? Anyone have an a6 bin that they take over 8psi? Could you please send it my way so I can test it out :)

I'm beginning to wonder if it's not something in the bin, but something else. If I have a proven bin to run, then I can weed out some posibilities.

Thanks! -Sean (ps-I'm wideband equipped fyi)

Please, it's not a 'boost cut'...I really hate that term. The 'boost cut' problem has been gone for ages.

I was able to hit very close to 11 psi with the bins I posted online. I would blame it on the tune reacting differently with a different setup, but you've already mentioned to me that your afr looks ok when this happens. :P

Maybe a vacuum line is leaking once the boost builds up? I zip-tied all of mine to avoid such a thing from happening.

nah its boost cut, we used rory's bin and xeno's bin both on alecs zc too, results....rorys = boost cut, xeno's = no boost cut.

If you're talking about chris-ZC-450-8.bin, it has more advanced timing and less fuel than mine under boost. That looks a lot more like the tune is better-suited to his engine than mine. If this boost cut still exists, why am I able to run 11 psi on ng48_rory_2.bin?

Are you updated to the latest verison of TurboEDIT, and using the NG55 codebase for these tunes? If you haven't done this, this should be your FIRST attempt at fixing your problem.

Check the website for updates.

If you've got the NG55 codebase, it is _NOT_ a "boost cut". It's a "I'm an idiot and have to rely on others to make my bins for me over the Internet" cut.

There are PLENTY of tutorials on how to make a your own ROMs. It's _very_ hard to make a bin over the Internet. Each motor is different, even if it's the same motor. The turbos are different, cfm.. spool time, intakes, blah blah blah.. Sheesh..

Make your own bin.

these were bins modified by xenocron, with fuel/ign tables taken from some tuning work that leed did. neither of those file names look familiar to me.

You said you had used my bin, so I assumed you were using one of the two that I uploaded to Xenocron's website. Likewise, I assumed you were using the ZC tune that Xenocron posted on his site. Looks like I made some wrong assumptions then. :P

In any case, tuning a car over the internet is useless. No matter how similar the setup may seem, it's not the same.

Right now the bin is on the old codebase, last week I downloaded NG55 and tried to make my own basemap but it ran like ass (NOT BLAMING IT ON YOU, so dont go typing a rage again) I read somewhere that the injector ID's might have the 450's defaulted on the 240's or some ---- like that and you were going to fix that soon. And thought it might of been part of the problem, but I didn't have any time to play around with it anymore so I thought "maybe someone will have a similar bin that I can use to start off on, that will be a harmless post", so I took 2 mins and posted up asking for one. Well holy ----, I didn't know you were going to turn into adolf over it.

Did I ask for someone to "tune" me one over the internet, NO. I know each motor is differnet, blah blah blah. Why would I have a god damn wideband if I was an "idiot that is just going to relie on others bins on the internet" You sound like I'm attacking you or your program. I asked "Could you please send it my way so I can test it out?" does testing it out sound like I'm going to get a "tuned" bin over the internet? Jezuuz christ

Chill out...no need for everyone to get all heated.

I know Jordan's BIN on my download site is for an A6 and he's been over 8psi. PM 'Mahcivic' on here and ask him to send you his tuned BIN.

Re: Anyone have a bin they use on an D16A6 for over 8psi? (turboedit)

I think what pisses me off is the termonology used.

You're not experiencing a "boost cut". A boost cut is a restriction in RPM based on manifold pressure.

..and I think I can speak for all of us involved in the development, that it's a senitive subject because we went through a bug like that for a while.

What you're experiencing is by no means a "boost cut"... misinformation causes WIDE------ panic, and doubt. You probably won't ever understand it because you don't sit in our positions.

Users trust in an engine management system. Ya, they may not outright think about it, but they're trusting that what we say TurboEDIT is going to do, it will do without flaw. That thier motor will be safe. The minute you start saying that "I just installed this bin and now I get a boost cut" you're putting doubts in people's head. That the lame little issues THEY'RE having might be the software.

...it's a very delicate situation, and every Joe Schmoe DIY guy has a stake in it's success or failure, just by how educated they are.

Sorry for sounding pissy.. but.. I hope you can at least understand mine, and Rory's position.

Yea I can understand, sorry about the rant. I have some free time today and next week so I'll be able to sit down and play with it for a few hours. I'll update at the end of the day hopefully.

Compared to what I use to know, I feel like a TE guru now :P

Finally made my own bin and it works great :) Thanks to all for the patience and work put in

hate to thread jack but i Dl-ed the New version of TE along with the new NG55 code, followed Xenocrons write up on the basemap, burned it and as soon as i hit the throttle it died? i then copy my old basemap that i made using the old basemapper deluxe 1.0 and pasted it to NG55 and it work great. Not only that but i was able to boost to 15psi with no bogging of anysort. Weird!

what could have caused the car to die my other basemap? ill make some more and upload them or something.
