ALL YOU ECU GUYS....

Recently bought a 92 civic hatchback VX......With an engine swap of a D16z6..Just finished up the turbo kit today and took the ecu to be chipped finding out I actually have a p07 Ecu and a wideband from the VX running my d16z6... He said he wasnt farmiliar with what it would do so we went ahead and chipped the ecu with a p28 bin of a website...Just curious to know if this will work with the car being a d16z6 with a p07 ecu still running the factory wideband for the VX.... Any help or imput will be great....Also if this wont work what can i do??????

Re: ALL YOU ECU GUYS....

So it would be pointless to even try....If so what can be done to the car to make work ....I know i will need a p28 ecu but what about the 5wire o2????

Re: ALL YOU ECU GUYS....

The socketed P07 will run... wierd... and VTEC engagement will be glitchy and laggy. I wouldn't trust it on a turbo engine. The secondary MCU is sending interrupts to the primary that the primary (running off the chip) isn't ready for and just eats critical clock cycles.

You need some other Civic/Integra ECU, either VTEC or converted to VTEC. Then, you need to do the pinout/wiring changes to go from P07 to normal OBD1.

There is no other kind.

Re: ALL YOU ECU GUYS....

Factory service literature, located at the top of Hybrid/Tech Forum, tells you everything I know and provides purdy pictures to boot.

p07's are like baby seals, but in this case you skin them of thier 5050S's lol

Re: ALL YOU ECU GUYS....

I'm still not finding anything in the hybrid section that is useful.....but i did find this......http://hondaswap.com/swap-articles/v...or-info-13759/

It said its for a b-series swap and i have a d-series so would this be the same or what.....?????

Tom-Guy 08-06-2006 11:24 PM

Re: ALL YOU ECU GUYS....

If you can't find the service literature at the top of the goddamn Hybrid/Tech forum, you are not worth helping further.

Goodbye!

I'm the only one here who has done not only VX to OBD1 pinout changes, but has mated VX to non-VX harnesses. My GODDAMN help is the finest you'll get, but you have to GODDAMN meet me halfway.

I downloaded a manual from that thread the last time pgmfi.org's server hiccoughed. There *are* working links there, *you* are just too lazy to read the whole thread and look.

Actually there is. Some California VX models have a 4-wire. These are rare P07 ecus which work fine. I'm running one now. Info is out there.

The info that is out there is not the truth.

Here's some part numbers from SL Honda to reference. Looks to be 93-95 California VX with the 4-wire o2. I'll see what mcu and ecu I have when I get home. Today is another 12 hour day.

I have no respect for someone who thinks they know everything in the world....Not one thing that was said in the post was useful to me at all....And I did find my information else where the car is rewired and running great thinks to other guys at honda-tech.com....So yea if im gonna get help maybe i do belong there

Re: ALL YOU ECU GUYS, HMT RULES....

I know your comment wasn't directed at me. I know how you feel, but it's hard to help someone that cannot search hmt/ht/or pgmfi.
It's common knowledge which boards are chippable. If you would have just posted which ecu you have then I could have told you whether there was a chance you had the chippable board.
I don't mind helping newer members out as long as they put some effort into addressing the issue.

This is the nicest HMT thread I have ever read for some complete asshat noob.

You should consider yourself blessed that this did not turn into an 8 page HMT proper ass pounding.

HMT never ceases to amaze me ... *tear*
