AFR Wide Band monitor...?

So, I've been reading about these wide band O2 sensors, and AFR monitoring. I was thinking it would make a lot of sense to have one of these plug into a computer's serial port to allow monitoring of the current AFR, and also to do some datalogging. Anyone know of anyone who has done this, would a megasquirt unit allow for this, or do I just need to look into writing one?

Thanks,

Ben

Everybody on this site who has a half decent setup does this. Yes you can do it while using megasquirt.

Read the faqs

Thanks for the response... I guess I didn't ask the right question... I just want the wide band for help in adjusting the carburetor jetting, so I'm not planning on actually running the megasquirt efi, just wondering if there is something else out there for monitoring, or if I should just get the megasquirt or something else.

Thanks,

Ben

If you're staying carbureted then any regular WB O2 should work fine if you want to find what jet size is perfect.

Personally I would rather run megasquirt over the carb. It's much faster changing the fuel and timing maps with a computer than rejetting the carb and you can fine tune much better.

Yep, and I just might do that... I'm just doing my thinking, and pricing, and estimating, and whatnot... I'm hoping that I can start accumulating parts mid-November... just doing research until then...
