Default AFC screen

Ijust installed my afc in my 95 civic dx.
I followed the instructions just like it said,
I started the car without the screen being pluged in,
the car started fine for about a minute then the check eng.
light came on and the car idled kind of high.
I thoght it might of being because the screen wasent hooked
up, so i pluged the screen on and nothing came up other than
the buttons light up please help. thanks

Why did you start the car without plugging it in?

If you start th e car without the afc plugged in there is probably no voltage from the map sensor going to the computer. Also, do you have both power wires hooked up correctly.

No it was brand new, I dont know I didnt think it matterd.
power wires you mean brown and black? if so I think i did
I had them about 1inch apart.
