AFC hack question at IDLE!!!

Okay i got dsm 450cc injectors on the V-AFC... i'm not sure if my Air/Fuel ratio gauge works but at idle it says EXTREMELY rich even at -%50 across the board for LO-TH on the V-AFC. is this right? let me know for sure

That gauge is ----. It isn't worth looking at unless you are at WOT because the ecu is doing so much adjusting and ----.

That doesn't sound right though. Mine bounced all over hell. Are you sure you have it hooked up right?

Re:AFC hack question at IDLE!!!

like i said i dunno if its hooked up right on my 91 si wire harness isn't it the WHITE wire? cuz for OBD-0 on these engines the o2 sensor is just 1 wire.. or that i use or know of.... if not, what other wire is there?

Re:AFC hack question at IDLE!!!

I don't think the AFC touches the oxygen sensor wire at all? Or are you talking about the accuracy of your gauge?

Don't trust those at all. They won't give you a reading worth a ----.

How are the RPMs at idle? Also does it SMELL like you're running rich?

haha well..... ;D right now i'm on an open downpipe, the downpipe should be made in a week hopefully. i think in the AFC FAQ it says at only HI-TH on the AFC... what about LO-TH???? also what wire do i hook up the A/F gauge up to on my 91 si wire harness... the white wire? thats the wire i use to hook up the o2 sensor.. no CEL.

Re:AFC hack question at IDLE!!!

I'm not sure what color your O2 sensor wire is, so I won't attempt to guess. On my OBD2 it was brown I believe, or purple. ---- if I remember.

You want to set both your hi and lo throttle to -40% and adjust it bit for bit at each RPM interval.

The general 'cross over' point is at 75% because I think thats when the ECU actually considers you switching from lo to hi throttle.

Re:AFC hack question at IDLE!!!

maybe this is why i have to hold the throttle to keep it running.. i'm on LO-TH at -50% across the board.. so i'm not even giving enough fuel than stock, correct? :-X

At idle I'm running -35% at both hi and lo

that is a lot of fuel for 440/450 injectors. Why so rich off-boost?

Re:AFC hack question at IDLE!!!

If I don't set it that high I have a fucked up idle, I think its because of the BoV trying to adjust itself, but in any event this keeps the engine RPMs up and strong at idle.

Re:AFC hack question at IDLE!!!

i thought the obd0 o2 sensor was the blue wire, im not positive. just run a wire directly into the engine bay and tap onto the o2 sensor. with those a/f guages the lights should be all over the place unless your at WOT,sounds like your wired it wrong.

They're completely inaccurate anyways :(

Depending on what source you use to give them power, will effect how they read. I connected mine to wires in the dash panel, and when ever I turn on my lights there is a voltage drop to the A/F gauge so it starts reading less rich :) its ------- pathetic :)

why would the bov have any effect on it?

Re:AFC hack question at IDLE!!!

The BOV is constantly adjusting itself based on the pressure it feels, correct?

I noticed in this new one (I got an RFL now) I can watch the valve move up and down inside of it at idle. I have tried adjusting the spring pressure, but irregardless there is still "flex" in there. I am pretty sure its a mechanical and not a electrical thing, because I can turn the engine off and then on real quick (reset the ECU) and it will have no effect on it.
