Default afc hack with missing link

I was wondering if i need to remove my missing link when I install my DSMs and run the afc hack, or if I should just leave it in? This topic is still unclear to me as some say yes and some say no. let me know if I should and why or why not. Thanx.

Yes, you need to remove it with the AFC. The AFC takes care of the voltage signal so you don't need the missing link.

But if he left the missing link on would it screw up anything? My VAFC settings are in the positive and I'm unsure if I should get a missing link or upgrade to 550cc injectors

Your settings are in the positive? With 450cc injectors? That can't be right. Are you getting a cel for map? You should be. Are you driving with a cel? Under NORMAL circumstances a missing link will screw up the voltage scale. This is explained in "The truth about the AFC hack" thread.

thats what I thought at first but the O2 voltage doesn't lie. With 450cc injectors and a 255lph fuel pump it running .95v under 2500rpm at -10. anything above 3000rpm with settings at +5 the A/f just keeps dropping. I'm going to put the FMU back on it but I've been too lazy to get around to it yet.

I never said it was god.

Joseph could explain to you why it is a bad idea to run a missing link, but you won't listen anyways so nevermind. :P

It might not have been Joseph that explained this to me, but I wish he would chime in and tell me I'm wrong.*looks at watch*

Basicaly the timing after you enter boost is going to stay advanced instead of scaling up to eventualy even out. Since you are blocking the map signal after you enter boost, it has no way of knowing what to do with the timing so it just leaves it advanced as ----.

If you can explain to me why this won't happen I will gladly take your advice, but until then I am done arguing. :P
