aem or innovative wideband

looking at both widebands, aem is cheaper both are gauge type widebands and aem looks alot easyer to hook up ,innovative has some box inline that needs to be mounted somewhere away from heat . any one that has used both has both or knows good and bad let me know what you thionk..

AEM tries to catch you on the o2 sensor. They change the plug end on it so when your original one burns out, you have one of 2 choices...you order a new one from AEM for a nice high price with "their" style plug on it, or you order the same replacement sensor for much less with the standard plug on it and cut the aem one off and resolder to your replacement. Ask Sikcrx89 about the AEM one...he has one.

Yeah, I am not very fond of the AEM unit for that reason...their voltage output curve leave a bit to be desired as well if you are tuning for yourself.

As a monitoring gauge it is ok, if you are using it to tune with, have fun.

INNOVATE all the way 8)

If you think +/- .75 AFR off of a gangbang of Innovate/NTK/stock K-series/PLX consensus is ok. :(

The built 3S-GTE/Microtech had an AEM unit on the pillar pod. Once again Joey was not impressed. This makes the the fourth out of four I have touched that were freaking off, buying AEM is buying a name.

I've put a few up next to my Innovate and they read pretty close...so I have never experienced that really.

I'm probably being unfair, the MR2 had a freaking dirty ground system and AFRs would vary a whole point when headlights were switched on/off, hard to tell much worth knowing when both widebands on the car are hooked to different power and ground points.

I think I'm 15% right and 85% hate AEM on this one. They beta tested their less than robust EMS on the general public, I'm not surprised when I see any of their equipment demonstrating chronic failure a year or more after it's release.

That's good to know...I almost thought about buying one...*almost*...due to it's price tag, but after hearing this I think I'll be much better off with something from Innovative or equivilent.

I've heard of people having problems with their innovative lambda cables where they just stop working, I dont know if they have fixed the problem yet or not though. I bought the PLX m-300 and am very happy with it, very easy to hook up and use.

Where did you hear this? And second, if it did happen...Innovate has the best customer service, they give no trouble replacing out defective parts.

I've seen it on forums and prolly even here, everyone has said that they have been replaced by innovative with no troubbles. I thought this was just a known fact, I have never used one but thats prolly the biggest reason I didnt buy one when I bought my plx. I would've loved to save the extra $100 but I figured why buy the cheapest one when I've heard a few people having problems. especially because I hope to have and use it for many cars after this one. I know no company makes every single unit 100% perfect, This was prolly a year ago and I would think they would have any problems sorted out by now.

Edit: Here is the innovative site, seems that lots of people are having problems with them still.

Here is one costomers review http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/f...ead.php?t=5582

Just would like to to add my Name to the list of people who have had a LC-1 Die, My Anolog outputs Both of them have totally Died this week, the unit is a year old, and been fitted to the car for the last 6 months and now totally useless to me as i cant log the ouput with my ECU for mapping datalogging etc

Not happy not what i expected from innovate after the reviews i had from other users of you products over here in the UK
I dont mean to bust up business or anything but I just think buyers should be informed. It does seem that innovative has been replacing the defective units, and all I've ever heard was that they do have good costomer service and stand behind what they sell.

Lots of people's complaints are about the units not being so user friendly, every so often you need to do a calibration, which honestly isnt that hard and most of those complainers are just retarted.
