AEM FIC ?? what ya know about it..
Im setting up a turbo kit for my friends 08 civic si, and am now trying to figure out what to do for tuning.
FMU out of the question.. so Xenocron recommended the AEM FIC.
any body use it, have opinions on it..
+ and - from anyone who actualy has used one.

Its as good as piggybacks get. Timing retard kicks ***, and its purpose is for passing emissions. JD will chime in soon about the CEL and 02 stuff but for that car short of a standalone, FIC is his best bet.

I don't think a new Honda with CEL quite like the is300s do. The 05+ DBW cars might, I have no experience with those yet.
The FIC is meant for factory wideband cars, they can feed or subtract current from the wideband sensor so that when the car tries to tune for stoich during part throttle boosting it'll really be hitting safe rich. They work on narrowband cars (see is300) but sometimes you have to fiddle around a bit to make them happy (see is300).
It's all pretty much an intuitive interface, you can log a wideband through it, it has a switched output, etc. Not bad for the price + OBD2 compliance.

I'm running an F/IC on my miata and it pretty much kicks ***. You can sent an A/F target for closed loop (WB or NB). All sorts of neat-o stuff. Best of all it doesnt modify your map/maf signals or any of that BS. I've been running mine about a year and a half trouble-free.

thanks for the input JD..
Seems to be the best rout to go..
Is the reason for lack of tunning software, or coversion of such, for the new civics just becasue of it being new, or due to the constant changes to make cares more eco friendly, and involving more variable sensor inputs for controling fuel timeing, and all that happy stuff..
