AEM EMS vs. Hondata S200 which is better?

Just as the topic states. The application is a stock LS with t3t4 turbo pushing 10psi. Which one is more userfriendly, easier to tune, more tunable...ect.

I am about to fully build the engine for 20psi and I want to go with the stand alone that is going to give me reliability.

From experience, which one do you guys prefer?

Well, seeing as though you would need someone with the 4B software to tune the Hondata, and you seemlingly want to tune it yourself, go AEM.

For the full blown Hondata setup, you're looking at the same price. Both are equally as complex, however, the AEM EMS seems to take tuning to the next level with more features.

However, Hondata is tried and true. Support for almost every application is available.

I think hondata or aem ems would work well for you. I just got hondata the other day so I am kinda biased, but I would say go with hondata.

Maybe try and find somebody with hondata and aem so you can check out how they tune it before you buy one.

Well, I don't know much about the Hondata, but I have worked on a few AEM EMS's. There is a lot involved in tuning on the AEM, I for one, have read through the manual for the EMS about 3 times and I still don't understand much of it. On the good side though, AEM is capable of way more things than the Hondata. One of the coolest features, I think, of the EMS is being able to control boost vs. vehicle speed which would help traction tremendously.
So, if you want something more user friendly, I would probably recommend the Hondata, but if you want more features, I would say to download the AEM EMS software and check out the basemaps, and possibly read some of the manual.
If you happen to go with the AEM EMS, buy the AEM wideband, and the AEM 3.5 bar map sensor (unless you don't want to go over the max honda map boost)

Good advice. DL the demo versions of each and play around with them. I am using Hondata, and have limited exp. with AEM. I also have read the entire manual and spent alot of time on their forums reading. If you like to ---- with ----, and want the ultimate in adjustability Id recommend AEM. Its hard to fault the Hondata though. It is VERY easy to use. (ie, basic functions are not buried 8 submenus deep lol)
For me it came down to $$$$. A used Hondata system can be had for very cheap. If I were to do it again, it would be AEM by a hair, and only if I could find a jew deal on a used one.

PS, I ------- hate having to unplug/burn/replug eeproms w/ Hondata.

is the aem ems plug and play like hondata or do u have to re-wire the engine harness? and/or add sensors.

AEM EMS does work with the factory harnesses, it also includes the missing plug in some honda harnesses, so you can add additional sensors, like EGT's and other sensors.

..for $180 you can use the ROMulator by Xtronics and do real time programming.. Hondata was the first to support it.
