adding additional o2 sensor
hi there
im own a d16a9 engine (info below)http://home.arcor.de/maaoli/DATEN2.HTML as standard it has no o2 sensor ....... http://www.markl.f9.co.uk/ecu-data/p...0/pm7-e020.htm how can i go about adding an additional o2 sensor so i am able to tune my fuel needs for turbo better? I have an HF manifold so i believe i can simply buy a o2 sensor a place it in the provided hole or is it best further down the exhaust. any help would be great thanks |
Re:adding additional o2 sensor
UHmm it's ok there...yust connect it and put the signal wire to a A/F gauge so you can read the A/F ratio for tuning

Re:adding additional o2 sensor
no funny connections into the ECU or anything? do i need to make sure i get a 3 wire o2 sensor? like i said there wasnt one there from standard, it uses a pentomiter clipped to the side of the ecu to control the base fuel i think

Re:adding additional o2 sensor
Are you wanting your ECU to see the signal? If so yes you will need to wire it directly into the ECU, dead easy though, I can give you instructions if you want.
If you just want it for tuning, buy a 1 wire 02, and just run the wire straight to your A/F meter. It'll take care of the rest. I don't think it needs power (or if it does, the A/F meter gives it??) and it definitely doesn't need grounding - it is internally grounded. |
Re:adding additional o2 sensor
thanks alex
so the circuit would be a one wire o2 sensor and AF gauge that sounds pretty simple. I'll let u know how it goes ... i know its not gonna be precise but its gonna be better than nothing and i cant afford wideband at the mo |
