87 oct, new crome basemap, not working

OK so here's the deal, I've got the turbo kit on the hatch (RHb5 vj11 smic 390's ect..) and I'm about ready to fire it up.

Alright I've got a CEL while the car is running, but when I jump it to read the code it stays solid. I turn the key on the fuel pump primes and then the light goes out and comes back on real quick and stays on. no blinking or anything. the idle is also messed up a little but I'm going to be working on that. What would cause that CEL

Here's my basemap I made, if anyone want to look at it. It's the first one Ive done.

start it in your driveway and let in run for an hour....lol i guess

but i would try to through 93 in there and end up in the middle some where

Re: 87 octane

you can tune for 87, and i'd rather run 87 at the expense of 10hp and an extra 5 dollars a fillup

Drive it around. Keep it out of boost. Just how different is a turbo car from an na car when the intake manifold doesn't have positive pressure? If you're really worried take the spring out of the wg(ext.) or disconnect the rod(internal) then run it out of gas...

Re: 87 octane

JD will tell you that you need not add octane to drive a turbo car. you'll just reduce the fun of being turbo only slightly

Sounds like some good ideas. Just wanted to see what other people did in this situation.

LMAO..Come onguys 87 isn't that bad you can tune a car for 87 octane it's no big deal..and if your not going to eat on it you should be fine just to run out half a tank of gas. avoid dogging gears though don't be cruising at 30mph on fifth and flooring it that could get you in trouble.

Re: 87 octane

Or just pop a line off the fuel filter and jump the pump at the relay and drain it into a gas can and use it somewhere else. Just don't blow up anything!

Re: 87 octane

just fill up the rest of your tank with 100 octane.....or throw a gallon of 110 in.....

Re: 87 octane

Well what do you guys think would be a good starting point for ignition in a basemap. I just set my basemap at 1.3 per lb boost. should I go more? What about fuel, How should I go about richening the maps, through turbo efficency? or fuel multiplier?
