3 q's map,o2, and turbo
i have a 98 civic dx hatch. d16y7 w/ jdm manifold swap comprable to y8. i just installed my custom turbo set up yesturday with my friend. turbo is a t3 from a thunderbird. manifold is iome made. and i have a probe intercooler. and i have a few problems.
ok heres the problems...
1) as soon as i turn on the car check engine light turns on. so im like BULDERDASH. but ok understandable 1 of my o2 isnt set up and map sensor cant read boost.
2) my turbo is smokeing bad from my custom exhaust. thinking seal is broken and we are 90% sure of that (10% is just hope).
3) i have 3 3 way conencters going into 1 vacume line in the manifold.
ok now the questions
1) is their any way to by-pass the sensors to pass emissions. especialy the map, the o2 we will put on aftr we install new cat. or atleast switching to a p28 form a 95 civic si obd1 and then just getting a wiring harness for my obd2 wiring. whats best solution and the cheapest and best way?
2)ok about the turbo kinda bad at first smokign around the turbo REAL bad but then degresser and a few cotes later and that seemed to stop except for a slight leak from my bolts on the turbine side its smokeing from. but the worst part is after i put on my new exhaust and "Breaking it in" and its still smokeing real bad under load and downshifting. when i launch giant puff comes out. but any way to try and fix this befor scraping it and puting on a new turbo.?
3) ok i set up my boost guage after iw as finished just fro run but then i got 2 3 way connecters going into 1 vacume line in my manifold. can this affect my boost reading at all? im worried cause i have no fmu and stock everything almost.
ill get pictures asap.
but i need some info on these asap.
ps turbo 2 for life already stomped on a 91 civic si with jdm b16a swap into it runnin at 12 to 1 compression and other internals and standard i/h/e . i didnt just beat him i just stomped him from a role and stop.

1. your stock map sensor CAN read boost. The reason it limp modes is because theres no tables in the fuel and ignition maps on the ECU to tell the ECU what to do.
plug the o2 sensor in and let it ride in free air for now. zip tie it to something so it doesnt hang.
your best best is to convert to OBD1
2. could be a bad return line setup, could be excessive oil pressure (try a restrictor)
3. no
