2003 civic SI with greddy ecu won't pass emissions obviously
 

So a friend of mine is working on a customers car with a full Greddy turbo kit. He is getting paid to make it pass emissions, and we're both well aware of the quality of the ecu and kit in general and how unlikely it is to pass emissions. None the less we need to make it pass. In IL as long as the car has all the readiness codes passed you pass, however if there are readiness codes that are incomplete they will put the car on the rollers and then it surely won't pass. It has not passed the evap, catalyst, and O2 readiness codes even though all the parameters seem to be fine. Any ideas??? I'm lost, I've never really messed with this emissions readiness code ----, and he is an acura tech and has access to every scanner known to man and we are stumped.

Greddy ecu = blue box? Why not put the stock ecu in a block down the road, roll up there, pass and put the greddy ecu back in?

Yes its the blue box, Thats kind of what are are doing now. We think it may have somethign to do with the map sensor, so we are disconnecting the map sensor from running through the greddy ecu now. We are slightly worried about running it with no management kind of, but we are just going to drive and keep it out of boost.

Open up your pipes, change out the waste gate spring, do whatever it takes to bring down your boost pressure then run the stock ecu a block down the road like stated. You guys make this harder then it really is. 2 hours of work to pass emissions for a year or what ever your state requires aint crap. :3

i say disconnect the charge pipe to where the engine wont see boost then put in factory ecu...bam done

dont even deed to disconect the charge pipe (just stay out of boost). just swap ecus a block down the street...... bam done

well i dont know about the test centers in his neck of the woods but i have heard that the guy doing the tests puts it on the rollers and drives and that they will put it in boost. and thats why i said disconnect the charge pipes
