turbo edit is free, just costs the chipping and burning supplies ($150ish) + tuning.

the tuning "scope" for the afc is like 6-8psi.. anymore and u risk detonating due to advanced timing.

you've done everything right so far.. dont get inpatient and run half assed engine management.

Yes but to run TurboEdit I have to be OBD1 correct?

So the coversion harness, distributor and ---- will be close to $300, P28 ecu is another $100 +

THEN it moved onto the turbo edit and all its ---- that I would have to somehow learn because like I said there are no shops in my area that have eveen seen more than 2-3 aftermarket turbo'd cars.

Crx-88-Si, your form Brampton, the biggest name I know of in burlington/brmapton/sauga is Spitfire and even they have no experience tuning cars.

See my dilemna?

no, turbo edit is for obd0, uberdata is for obd1. therefore, all you would have to pay for is to get your ecu chipped and a chip burner and take a week or two to learn how to tune dat ----, then take it to a dyno and tune it yourself....

OOOOOOOOOOO TurboEdit, I was think uberdata and turboedit were the same

So I can just get my PG7 chipped eh. How much does that usually run? I have 2 PM6 ecu's but I dont think there the righ year.

Also, I have no idea how you burn the rom or whatever, Is there any reason I would need a laptop for easier tuning?

Once 88_CRX-SI jumps back in Ill be able to decide my route, because as far as I know, Id be completely by myself for tuning (have the net of course, but no actual help)

there are people on here that will chip you r ecu for next ton nonthing, as far as turbo edit, yes, that's the way you wan't to go. someone can ship ypur ecu with a basemap that will more than ghet you by until you can learn how to use te yourself. excuse my tyoping, i'm drumk :P

So how is it done? I get my ecu chipped, so theres a permanent chip in my ecu correct? Then with turboedit, I have to buy some kind of burner for the computer right? with this burner I write some type or prgram on a little chip I buy form radioshack or something? Then install it in my car?

Dont quite get it

open your ecu, desolder a chip, resolder a ZIF socket that lets pull and play your burned rom chips. that's the readers digest version

LOL you live in the GTA right? ya we're almost ---- out of luck for people who will tune that for you.

im not sure if a pg7 has a EEPROM.

you'll need a 90-91 pm6.

look on the side of the ecu for a red date stamp. then pop the cover, take a pic of the guts of the ecu and post it up and some1 will tell you 100% if it's chippable or not.

Yup, definetely out of luck. Im on my way tonight to refill my bottle at Spitfire, so Ill ask them if they can or know of any shops in Ontario that are available.

I wouldnt mind to muc about crossing the border and going to NY for a weekend for a good tune. Might cost a hundred more to get tehre and grab some american cash but thats cool

All in the name of h/p
