I'd reccomend that you sell that AEM to me at an extermely low price, cut your losses and go uberdata. Just a suggestion though

Try contacting AEM's tech support or something. And you can learn more about Uberdata here at HMT or at the Uberdata support group site: http://www.ecimulti.org/uberdata/forum/

Ya, I would call AEM. Honestly, for $1200+, they better help you with it.

Also AEM has a forum where their engineers post and there are a lot of factory trained tuners on the forum as well. I started reading the forum when i first considered the EMS for my car.

Hopefully you get this figured out cause i know how frustraiting it can be. I was having trouble finding someone in CT thats certified other than domestic shops but i lucked out and found a guy on that board. I dont want to screw anything up and this is my first turbo project so i expect some issues especially since im working with a 89 Accord and my odd ball JDM swap.

I read through you post so i hope that last thing works out.

first, git rid of the frustration, it's really not going to help you much, just make things worse.

There is nothing about it that you can't figure out on your own. Granted, it's not going to be as easy as someone telling you what's going on.. but you'll just have to live with it.

Next, I've never touched an EMS, or anything AEM, so take this with a grain of salt.

I'm assuming you have a laptop hookedup. when you are cranking, and not starting, what is the rpm? it should be around 200rpm. With my Holley commander 950, I was picking up spark scatter, and the holley thought i was turning over 8000 rpm, and turning on rev limiter. = no gas, and cutting the spark. I had to get a crank trigger to fix my problem (Mopar V8, not a honda)

So, if it's showing that you aren't cranking (0rpm) while you can hear the enging spinning over. you need to find out what the AEM is using for RPM pick up, and make it pick up. Crank Sensor, Cam Sensor, or Distrubitor.

if it's reading right.. around 200rpm. Then, are you getting spark? and are you getting fuel? If you can't figure out how to check the spark, ask your girlfriend. as for the fuel. check your fuel pressure (sure would suck to blame aem if your fuel pump isn't running in the right direction.) then check your injectors.. (you can buy a noid light from craftsman, or any tool truck in town snapon, mac etc...) the noid will light up on injector pulses, or you can have someone else crank the key while you hold a screwdriver tip to an injector, and the handle to your ear. you should hear very distinct clicking sounds.

if it's reading abnormally high, 500rpm or over, something is going wrong with your pick up. most likely in the distrubitor, and you just might need to go with a crank trigger.. (don't worry, they are great!)

and last... are you running WAY to rich, or WAY to lean. and the always possible.. you've got your spark plug wires hooked up in the wrong place.

it shows the engine turning.
it has fuel. new pump and injectors. spark plugs wet.
Now the spark is what i dont have. had a timming light on it and no light when problum first started. Started after half hour of trooble shoting and the timming light started to work. next day no start. swaped distruibuter down the road, Started like new. next day.......... no start. took both distributers to a friends house and thay both worked fine. Back on my car, no start. Now that I have injectors, my stock ecu wont start the car but before it wouldnt start with it eather.

My conclution is that the EMS was working at first but ended up causing problums somewhere in the spark department due to a posible bad senser. a bad senser due to the EMS being faulty. to may other people are haveing this problum witch leads me to be leave that the EMS has a bug in it, because a good distributer does'nt go bad over night for no reason..

I'll keep my head on strate and try every posible solution to solve this problum.

thanks for the info...
