Sweet, I thought the ost2 version wouldn't datalog for anyone.... I had tried datalogging with the reg 1.7 but no go ... but I think/hope it was bacause I was using a serial cable with a serial->usb adapter ... so a usb cable is on the way and I'll try using ost2 for both as soon as it arrives.

Any tips so that I can be one of the people that do know how to use it?

Read the forum on how to use it. There is sooo much good information on that site, that people just pass up or forget about. Also the OSTR2 version works perfectly. Just like the 1.70 version.

You have to disable the live edit to get it to datalog, but the ostr2 only works through the emulation tab anyway.

Oh I read it. I just noticed at the end of the thread the author reported back that not alot of poeple got it to work ... so I figured I wouldn't be able to. I'll be sure to disable the live edit ... hopefully it'll work for me.

The problem with people not getting them to work are human errors or using the wrong hardware.. such as datalogging cables that aren't compatible. For future reference, I would just buy a good datalogging cable to start with and not try to do a cheap one just because it is cheap.. it will save you a lot of headaches in the long run. This is why I no longer offer data cables as an option with ecus. Even with the same part number and same cable, some work and some don't. It go annoying. So I stick with either the moates cable or the superdroids. But I would stay with moates because it is USB and that is compatible with most new computers.

Yeah, like I said I've read it ... it's reply #6 that I was refering to where he said not many people got it to work, but I guess he meant before his write up ... so I'll definately follow it step for step ....


As far as the datalogging cable I ordered a serial cable along with all my chipping ish back in the day from xeno ... now that I finally got a laptop it of course only has usb ... I ran out and got a serial -> usb adapter but no go ... so I now have a usb cable on the way fron xeno , hopefully it will solve my problems.



I had just read an ostrich write up on the UD forum where they said to run 2 windows and thought there has to be a better way, surely UD tuners don't mess with this all the time ...
