Default Postponing minor car repairs could cost you down the road

You’re looking at your holiday shopping list, and while rushing to the mall, you notice your car is making a strange noise.

If you’re like many consumers, there’s a good chance that you will spend your money on those remaining gifts, rather than take your car to the shop. But a recent survey shows that putting off small repairs in the short-term could cost you a lot more down the road.

The survey conducted by the U.S.-based Consumer Reports National Research Center shows that 40 per cent of consumers polled are postponing car maintenance or repairs due to the associated cost.

The survey found that drivers in lower-income households and drivers aged 18 to 34 were the most likely to delay necessary repair work on their primary car.
