Built ZC

Alot of you are going to say.. Built ZC? Why that fucking motor is D-series why even waste your time with that? Well It was my first engine I had bought for my crx, and I didnt have the 3 grand to swap in a nice B-series so I decided to build this baby up for some serious boost.

Porting & Polishing the head was one of the first things I did, It took me well over 14 hours of labor. I basically used a Dremel and some hand polish, The ports have been port matched to the Exh Manifold and Intake Manifold.

Here is a shot of the Exhaust port, The head also had a 3 angle Valve Job and has been resurfaced.

Not Shown, But I will be using Crower Regrind Cams, that just kick ass, I have been really happy with them.

The Block has had alot of work done to it. Bored .20 over, The sleeves has been O-ringd, and Endyn Did block support (posting) using Aluminum Studs to support the sleeves under boost conditions, this is what Larry Widmer uses on his 25psi Daily Drivin Civic. These are Alot better then blockguards since they dont take away the cooling from the top of the cylinder.

You Can see in this Pic where the Posting was done at, Their are a totaly of 12 studs. Looks like they sealed it with a epoxy or JB weld.

These are Endyn's Roller Wave Pistons. .20 Over Compression is 9.5.1 (basically stock) These pistons are made by Wiseco designed by Endyn.

The Rods are Crower I-Beam Rods, I picked them up on the Resource.Crx.Org classified forum. The Bottom end has been completely spun and balanced, The Crank has also been Micropolished.

The Block had to be notched to get these rods to fit correctly.

This is Powertone Performance Stage 3 Clutch Kit, Suppose to withstand 400hp. Comes with a 6lb Flywheel with a Composite Insert. 6 puk Sprung hub Ceramic Coated Clutch Disc, and a HD Pressure Plate.

Update: This clutchkit blows ass..

This is the ARP Head Stud Kit, The Part # is 204-4204 VW Golf/Jetta 16v. TRUST ME they are the right ones! they have the exact same thread pitch as the ZC, and perfect height.

I had to get the Valve Cover Powder Coated Mercedes Benz Silver, I also used some touch up Paint to highlight the emblem so it would stand out.

The High Temp engine paint from POR turned out great, it was alot brighter then I expected.

All the coolant lines were done up in stainless steel line, mainly for looks.

The front cover is the only thing that looks like ass on this motor, my other zc cover was even worse, and I wasnt sure how well it would look if I was to paint it.

Ah yes the very Gay T3 300zx turbo setup. The turbo is nearly at the end of its life. The turbo is way to small for this motor. This was just temporary until I could get my T-4 setup completed.

This is my custom ZC intake manifold. I had a friend custom build it, using the same specs as the STR/Venom intake manifolds. The facotry ZC manifold flange was chopped right off after the Fuel injector Bungs, and new runners were welded on. The Throttle body is a LS1 76mm T-body that will be bored out to a 80mm.

I will be using 900cc injectors with this setup as well.

Beau did the nice polish job on this manifold, looks very NICE!
