Default How do i know what size V-Band clamp i need?

i have the two v bands. the outer part of the ring measures 3 1/8th inches. and the pipe that the v bands are conected to are 2.5 inches. i bought a 3 in clamp but its way to big.

could you be more spacific. hell i dont know if they even sent me the right clamp. could be a 4in clamp its thst big.

If the vband is for 2 1/2 inch pipe, you need to order a 2 1/2 inch vband clamp, thats how the sizing works for them.
