Default D16y7 ignition question

I've got a 1988 civic hatch with the stock D15 converted to MPFI runnnig a D16a6 dizzy and TurboEdit.

I'm planning on swapping in a D16y7. WIll the A6 dizzy work with that head?

The guy that gave me the motor mentioned something about the CAS being located somewhere other than the distributor. Is that true? If so, what do I need to do about that?

dont listen to the guy who just posted, *cough*moron*cough* yes your a6 dizzy will work you will have to notch or drill the top mount of your dizzy to make it a little wider to be able to bolt into place, everything else will work all the same. just use your obd0 intake manifold/tb/sensors.

hay zc er u ---- up pice of ----
read what i said iam telling him it the foot patterns dont line up. if u are going to use that dizz your not going to noch it. your going to have to cut it off the foot all the way. so no it wont work if u dont want to mod it and yes if u do. but if the crank angle sences is in the dizz of a6 than u will get a code because the crank angle sences of the y7 block wont hook up right.

wow, you really are a moron, you said it wouldnt work, the CRANK POSITIONING SENSOR IS IN THE DISTRIBUTOR ON A SINGLE CAM. you wont get a code, you shouldnt give advice if you havent done any swaps.

i build motors dum ----! right now i am building a ls-vtec. just got done with putting a gsr in a 90 integra. and i have a 97 civic with a d16y7.

he asked if it would work i said no. no one wants to mod a dizz if u can put the right one in. so no it does not bolt in and no it wont work. he will get a code if u put a obd2 motor in a obd1 or 0 because the crank angle sencer on a obd2 is on the block and obd1 and 0 are in the dizz.

wow, im impressed. wait no no im not, you should listen to what you said, if you did a swap then you would run the same obd as the car, in this case non-obd which nothing would be affected.. bitch please....

btw, the feet dont need to be cut off. just notch out the top dizzy mount.
