Default Hi everyone

Hello everyone my name is Ted and I've been boosting for about 20 years Oh wait a sec wrong place... um er, never-mind that last bit!
So a little about cars! I took a hiatus for a few years after my last real project which was a 88 VW GTI with a '92 ABA swap running a Garrett TBO383... a little small on the big end but killer off the line through to about 6k (also killer on fifth gears, I got really good at replacing transmissions on that car). This was all managed by a msfi V2 with bosch #42's. Fun car smoked all sorts of very expensive cars and it was pretty stealth. Well that car is long gone and now it's time to do something else Mwuhahahahahaha!
So where to start... Well it all started again (my wife puts up with so much crap from me LOL) when I found out about lotus super 7 clones and I did an *** load of research deciding to do a N/A build with a 07 ford 2.0 duratec build. This landed me with an engine and no car to put it in. Well over the course of two or three years I lost focus and though well "I guess I could just put this all into another Miata and turbo it" Needless to say there was a lot of waffling back and forth on what to do with this engine involving a lot of different build concepts. It turns out that Lotus replicas have the crash safety of shopping carts and I'm getting a little chicken in my old age, I've seen a lot of wrecks over the years as a truck driver and I've seen much more substantial cars folded up to a point of being almost unrecognizable. SO now this is what I have to date... 2007 Ford Duratec20 (Mazda MZR) engine, ITB's from a GSXR 1000 that have been re-spaced and mounted on a Webber DCOE style manifold, a cast iron turbo manifold for a Focus/Mazda3, a rebuilt Garrett T3 from an 84 300zx (60 trim .60ar cold .63ar hot) and a fidanza flywheel. I bought some forged rods a couple weeks ago and am moving onto forged slugs in the next month or so, with a compressor upgrade I`m looking for about 400hp.
I still haven't decided exactly what to put this into I'm kind of going with the field of dreams philosophy here "build it and they will come" although that being said it needs to be RWD and of Ford/Mazda descent I'm not doing any cross breeding here. The current runners are a Mazda B1600/Ford Courier (72-77) yep I like that old school tin... A Mazda B2200 because no one will see it coming (I like stealthy rides especially ones that will run low 12's) and an early Mazda Miata although I have mixed feelings about this last one, I owned one before and although there is an amazing forum for them... a lot of those guys seem pretty up tight and good god you don't want to suggest something new to them you'll get flamed. Too much of the shiny box mentality going on there which I don't buy into. I'm sorry but high performance parts do not have to come with pretty stickers etc. most of my truly scary fast cars were all built with factory parts from other applications and I have my suspicions that I'll find some like minded people here.

Thanks for reading my rant,
Ted
