Default 95 Toyota 4Runner 4x4

Hello and thanks for having me. I am currently in the process of researching for my build and will be frequenting this website quite a bit. My vehicle isn't your typical users vehicle (in signature) and won't be used for drag racing or any racing for that matter. It is in desperate need of making more power from the stock 3.0 Liter V6 and being an ex turbo 240sx (ka24det) owner (though I did not build the KA) I know the ability of a turbo to breathe a bit of power into an engine that needs a boost (no pun intended).

I am currently researching what turbo I can use for this application. I am only looking to make 200-250 HP. I'm more interested in making enough power to carry my 36 inch tires up a hill =P. The 3vze isn't the most popular engine as it has seen it's fair share of problems that were never fixed. The main problem being the fact that it doesn't like head gaskets. The remedy (in my case) was a set of ARP head studs (stock bolts are the reason HG's blow). I will not be upgrading any internals on the initial build (working on a secondary block and heads).

Depending on power output I will be retaining the auto trans (Since I'm not into racing a truck with 7" of lift) as long as I can. I am unaware of the power the A340H can hold and I am a bit afraid of the integrated chain driven transfer case.

I will be controlling fuel with a Megasquirt setup (not sure what ver. yet.) and eventually ignition if necessary. I'm not sure on the manifold or if I will do a semi-remote setup or not. I am up for opinions.

I was thinking of just running a stock Nissan (Garrett) T25 or an equal turbo. I'm not sure if this turbo is a good choice I just know that it will spool quickly and make power all the way to at least 5400 RPM's. I am more interested in low end torque than top end power but both are nice =P. I think I can make around 200-220 with the T25 but I'm a novice when it comes to turbo's so if this is a pipe dream please let me know. I will be doing my own piping and running an intercooler.

Thanks for having me and the future opinions.
