Z6 pistons in a ZC... what c/r will I have?
I have a z6 auto motor and would like to build a turbo ZC motor. I would like to put eagle rods on the z6 crank and pistons and wonder what c/r I would have. If I'm not mistaken the crank should be the same stroke as the ZC. I would like to balance the crank/rods/pistons and lower c/r to 8.8-9.0. Stock ZC is 9.6 right? I only want to safely boost like 15 psi with a 14b(td05)...ok maybe also a 50 shot then maybe 18 psi and then...then..BOOM...crap I cant even safely boost my ZC in my dreams LOL. Thanx in advance.

" I would like to put eagle rods on the z6 crank and pistons and wonder what c/r I would have " then put this crank in the ZC?
I dont know what compression you would have since, you didnt specify what compression pistons you will use?
The a6/z6/zc all have the same stroke. But honestly I would not be mismatching cranks. I had a nightmare on my ZC, when I used a a6 crank, I had to get custom rod and main bearings. Just use the zc crank.
14psi is pretty high, Some would say just slapping in some rods and pistons should do the trick, and they are probably right, but you need to remember you have a open deck design and their is nothing really supporting the cylinder sleeves, some people use block guards, I honestly think they are junk, I had my block posted/pinned, and of course the best way is sleeving the block.
If you are going to build a turbo motor, I would start with 9.5 c/r, that is my opinion.

eagle doesnt make pistons,
endyn developed the honda rod for eagle, you can get them through endyn's site

I was going to use the Z6 pistons in the ZC. Now I wonder how much boost the open deck d-series motors can handle? I have heard nightmares of these breaking but not sure exactly where powerwise they break. thanx again

9.5! you can turbo that (as the hmt guys have proven) but i personally woud aim for 8.5 max in a turbo moror, esp if you are using a fmu
ive got 7.5:1 static c/r when i rebuild the engine i will be using 7:1 pistons (along with lots of other trick bits)

Boost pixie, have you ever drove a car with NA with 8.1 c/r? they are incredibly slow, If you want your turbokit to perform, the car should be fast with or without the turbo. Hondas do not respond well to low compression... Ever drove a dsm with 0psi? its probably a 25 second car, with its impressive 7.8c/r
I am guessing this guy is probably going to be doing something a bit more than a FMU for fuel managment, if his intentions are building the bottom end for some boost. Its all in tuning fellas.
this is a friend of mine, Nick lopez, one of our fastest honda/acuras in the state. He runs 10.1 c/r with 22psi. But a spendy Motec engine managment system... (620hp to the wheels)

yeah I'll be running a programmable ecu(ghettodyne) I heard these blocks can handle like 270 hp. If so I should be ok with 15 psi on my ZC(intercooled of course, maybe a water/alcohol injection kit at the track). ABAZ thanx for being here dude. You are a wealth of knowledge. This site rocks and hits the spot while the crx resource is down.
