are you happy?

Re: are you happy?
Ignorance is bliss
I think it would be better to see what makes americans happy, everytime i go to a store or mcdonalds i never see too many "happy" people, they are usually pissed about something and are usually not nice to one anouther, I think people are more likely to say they are happy in general on a survey becausewe are optimistic about the future and don't like admitting that we have problems. If you broke it down and asked people if they like their job/spouse/family/financial situation and then used the overall result to determine if people were happy you would probably see that most people are not satisfied with their lives but think that in the immediate future there will be inprovement, this makes them happy.
did you know that suicide is the 8th leading cause of death in the us?

Who ever wrote that article is a materialistic ----. They tried explaining happiness by saying it's because of wealth, and having all kinds of "stuff" basically.
I have plenty of ----, spend money, and I'm not happy.

Re: are you happy?
the actual question was "are you satisfied" and "very satisfied"
if you actually read it, instead of commenting out of your ***...
i love you FAKE ron paul nutswingers.
you love the crappy european model, think they are so great, have the greatest lives. europe is THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what this country was when it was founded and up until the 1930s, ron paul's views are all opposite of everything in europe.

I'll admit I didn't read the whole thing. I'm just saying from the pieces you posted it sounds like they're saying people are happy because of money and materialism. And yes I realize it is shittier in Europe. Everyone drive cars half the size of anything here, lives in places half as big as here and it probably does suck more.
What I'm getting at is there's more to happiness than just money and materialism. that's all.
