Yeah but a lap top cant be had for 100 bucks.You missed the point that that battery will cost more than twice the price of that stuped I-pod.It would be the same if the lap top battery was $3500 bucks.
Hmmm... let me do the math. $49 for a replacement battery on a $400 iPod is the same ratio as $150 for a replacement battery on a $1300 laptop. Most laptops sold cost less than $1500 so it really is the same thing - my example stands.

Don't get me wrong - I think it sucks either way. But I'm an IT guy and I see stuff like this all the time. I just wanted to point out that Apple's not screwing anyone. (Well not anymore than all the High Tech companies screw everybody.) My experience has been that Apple will usually go out of their way to make the customer happy. And at least the tech was in the USA - try calling Dell when your DJ breaks. (Punjab anyone?)
