Are you sure those numbers are right? I just did a speed test on my comcast connection and I get 4.2 Mbps down and 382kbps up. Do a speed test here: http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

Yeah you can't use two connections worth of bandwidth and total it up. It doesn't work. You'd basically have two IP addresses since each connection is on a different network. You can however use a Dual WAN router in a type of Load-Balancing setup.

What this will do is it will allow you to use both connections simultaneously, but not both TOGETHER. What I mean is that say both connections are a 1.5 Mbps each. You CANNOT download 1 file at 3Mbps, but you can download two files at 1.5Mbps each. Kinda see what I mean? You can't split the file among two connections, because you can't synchronize them, but you can use both connections.

Nah I doubt doing that will do anything to increase speed. Wireless and wired connection use industry standards in communication, like 802.11b/g. It may make setting up multiple network components easier though as some devices may not like each other if they're from different manufacturers.

I was studying CIS before I switched to mechanical engineering. I used to be a huge computer geek back in high school. I knew so much about computers it's not even funny, but now I've lost a lot of my computer knowledge and made room in my head for car info. lol

by 20-30k, u mean 20-30 KB, right? that only works out to be 160-240 kilobits/sec. if so, i'd be livid. I'd be calling my isp right away..thats bullshit for a high speed line. IIRC, dsl speeds are guaranteed when you sign up.. see what speed you were promised when you signed up and see if its below that or not
