wireless internet, how to get a better signal?
well i have a labtop and we have dsl and its not wireless, but theres some wifi signal for like a library thats always on, well i can barly pick up the signal but it isnt strong enought to do anything. just wondering if you can make some sort of antena or somthing. and if so where would u put it on your computer? i hate using my dads pos computer, and i wana use my comp in my room. thanks for any help.

Yeah, it's understandable why everyone calls laptops "labtops." I mean, you put it on your lab when you use it...sooo labtop makes sense.
The answer to your question is to buy a range extender. It acts sorta like a bridge between the router and your labtop. It boosts the weak signals.
I had one I used to borrow someone's internet across the yard for a long time.

keep in mind a range extender has no security to it so anyone can access your extending signal, so if you are paranoid or dont want anyone on your ---- get a better router, wireless-N is where its at they are pretty cheap (90-150 for a linksys) now a days and go about 4x the distance range amount of a 802.11 wireless-g.
