Default wireless home theater setup?

I finally got around to buying the rear speakers for my setup, but running the wires to the back of the room would be a nightmare. The cheapest wireless system I've seen was about 100...anyone have any cheap source for this sort of thing?

My only other option is to put them right behind the couch on stands (as opposed to up high on the wall about 7 feet behind me), but these speakers are a little oddly shaped to be put on a stand (klipsch S-1) and I'd be affraid they might tip over. I can get the wires to the couch pretty easily but all the way to the back wall is almost impossible since this room is oddly shaped and includes the entrance, livingroom, and diningroom.

So either post up some wireless ---- or some decent stands that hold the speaker from the back as opposed to from the bottom (the speakers have a keyhole).

get in the attic and run that ---- through the walls. would be your best option IMO, unless there is no possible way

Well, it's gotta have some sort of wiring unless it's battery powered. I'd just run the ---- through the walls, along the edge of the wall/carpet, or under a rug.

The speakers would be going on top of my dvd shelves, and there is an outlet right behind them.

If i were to run the wires around the room, it would take a minimum of about 40ft of wire per speaker and I'm not sure it would even work. I ran/hid the wires for the front speakers and sub, but to do this I would have to find a way to deal with where the carpet meets the entryway tile (which means no hiding it under the trim).

Id be affraid to actually try to run it under the carpet in a straight shot, wouldnt it push it up too much/be a huge pain?

I'm sure it'd be a huge pain. Shouldn't push up the carpet much though, and there is actually "flat" speaker wiring you could buy. Unless you have some really thin carpet, I don't see anyone noticing it. Would definitely be a bitch and a half though.

My speakers came with 30-40ish feet of wire, so I think they'd work fine, but damn that's a lotta wire.

I guess wireless would be the best bet in your situation but I've never used them to make any recommendations.

if you get that under carpet foam and slice little paths through that with a boxcutter, youd be leaving a groove for the wire to pass and it would not show at all, and on top of that make your carpet even more comfortable to walk on

That would work for sure, but Im not really in the mood to rip up all the carpet. If i went under I would be attempting to snake it through somehow which probably wouldnt work anyway.

I think im leaning toward using stands and putting them behind the couch since that is a fairly short run for the wire but it would still be a pain. blahhh

Looks like your only bet is to either tuck the wires under the baseboards around the walls, taking the trim off around any doors to tuck into, or pulling back the edge of the carpet, running the ----, and then hiring a mexicrat off craigslist to come restretch your carpet.
