Default Windows new update question

Apperently windows now has a toolset in the latest update to tell if your copy of windows is "genuine". Does anyone know how to find out if it has been installed on a pc? What is the actual file called? ex.KB..... Any info about this would be helpful.

i chose not to install it...it gives you the option and has a eula that you must agree to and check. i think it's call windows genuine advantage. supposedly it just keeps popping up pop ups to remind you to purchase a genuine copy, but it also logs all your info so i'm sure eventually there will be piracy cases from it.

haha, I got a call from my dad a month or so ago "WTF is this, your version of windows is illegal".

A simple Google search and remote desktop action, "All fixed dad"

Yeah just go on google or bittorrent and get the latest wga cracks. Easy.

I had a good version of windows that always updated and never checked if it was genuine, lost the disc, downloaded another copy and it was just as good, lost that. Downloaded another 5 ---- versions that either were missing files or corrupt, then downloaded a copy from my friend that has a msdn subscription.

i just got my new comp built today. when i was downloading my updates and accidently downloaded windows genuine advantage. i just want to know how to get that annoying pop-up out of the corner of my task bar. i am also not sure my windows cd key is counterfiet or not. another thing is i use mozilla firefox and when i went to get a genuine windows cd key on their web site, it said that the genuine search thing doesnt work with mozilla. so if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
