My computer came with XP and that's what I use. I have no problems so there is no need to change it.

what software you running and also what hardware you using.
if they are older, they may not work well on the later operating systems.
i would recommend xp if you have up to date drivers for everything.

I used to be interested in screwing with computers, went to school for it, and switched operating systems and dual boots like every other week.
Then I realized that computers were boring, so I installed XP and went outside to turn wrenches on my car.
If you cant decide, do a win95/winxp dual boot and then you have choices.
