Default Will this engine fit?

Would an h22a vtec from a prelude fit in a 92'-95' CX hatch? Are those good engines? From what i know they have 190hp and 161 lbs. of torque. thats pretty good and if u put that in a light car like that. it should be running maybe if i m lucky mid 14's maybe? what do u all think are 92'-95' CX hatches nice cars? are h22a's easy to build up? Thanks and I am sorry i m a such a filthy noob.

You can make anything fit with the right tools and creativity. They also sell custom mounts for that swap. The CX is a very nice and light hatch. That would be a killer combo in stock form even. The build up might be a little tricky if you plan on running boost. Sleeves are a must. I would give you a big ::thumbsup:: if you pulled it off and posted pics.

Have you seen the weight differences of the motors? They don't weigh as much as people say they do. They don't weigh much more than a B series swap and people don't complain about those being too heavy. I'll look for the thread on Honda-Tech that compared them. There was a guy that weighed a D, B, and an H and they were very close to the same weight. The additional weight of an H series is about the same as a Turbo kit on a B series.

What are sleeves? Who sells the custom kits for this swap i didn't really look into this too much yet i just thought of it today as i drove past the junkyard and saw a prelude and i thought about what kind of engine could be in that thing. I will have to reaserch it but i just wanted to check if it would fit.

When ever you do an engine swap is it almost manditor to get a strut bar to stiffen up the chasis? I know i would do it but i was just wondering. Also are there any good pages to tell me how to port and poslish? I would love you for ever if you give me some sites on how to build an engine. Thanks every one!

well in order to build an h22 you have to resleeve. that is a must cant do it without sleeving. its not that hard of a swap to do. but you gotta extend wires from your existing harness to the prelude motor itself and u have to cut a lil ear off of the tranny side mount in order for it to work. and u have to drill out a new hole. there is a small hole in that mount bracket already u just have to size it up with a 9/16 drill bit. yeah the weight doesnt differ much from a b16 just a tad bit heavier. but id upgrade your springs though. cause it will start to bottom out at high speeds. and it dumps your car upfront. well with a b16 or b18 it would do that too. u dont need a strut bar. its not that hard of a swap. good for 13's all day. bone stock. well with an intake heh..good luck man...if u got any questions just pm me and ill let u know everything u need to know about doing that swap

personally ive done two h swaps ...in a 93 cx and a 94 gsr....werent too hard....the integra was a lil bit harder cause there was all that excess crap in there that a civic doesnt have....but both run strong...the integra still retains power steering..no a/c at the moment but we're working on that....the cx had a complication because it had a one wire o2...dont know why that was but it did...so we had to convert to 4 wire and it was a bitch to do it....we took all the plastic off of the harness to do it....dont like to ghetto rig ---- cause when u put it back together it will look like complete ***....sorry about the double post

h22 are the most difficult engines to swap. I was actually going to by an h22 engine until i realized it cost more to swap then to boost. Your going to have to by some engine mount kits, might need to to some hacking, remove power steering and air conditioning, need a new ecu, need a kit for front suspension, and buying the engine alone is around 2500-3000 gs. And that bitch is going to be hard to steer too.
