I always heard rabbits are best to kill and eat during times of frost, has something to do with parasites. Rabbits from May to October are unfit for eating or something like that. Someone knows what I'm talking about.

#6 shot works well or .22 will get the job done

they have a parasite that looks like a slug that live under ther skin samething with squirrels.

so do you see it when you are skining them? That was my big concern also was how do you know if they are safe to eat.

I have actually eaten a rabbit with botfly..... I just cut the section out. Its a big freaking bruised area.
