why is it when you got to a parts store to get somthing small like a throttle body gasket they always give you the wrong one and tell you its rite becuase the computer said it was. all i need is a integra ls throttle body and they gave me one that looks like its for a d16a6 lol. hell they dont even have any in stock to try to see if it will fit. got 2 more odered to see if they will work.

^^WTF are you talking about? So if I get a honda part number and go to autozone or anyplace in general the part numbers are gonna match up? Plus I didn't understand a word you said in that last sentence. That gave me a headache trying to read it When I go to a parts store I ask for a couple of different years and models and have them bring up the gaskets so I can see. Also I bring the part in so I can match it up. I hate going home and getting ready to put it on and find out it's the wrong part and have to drive back usually to get the wrong part.

Yeah by telling them a part number is the best route. Dont even tell them what car its for since theyre idiots anyways.

They do have cross reference of part numbers. They can look them up....

Another thing. Look it up online first. Then go with the part number.

Autozone.com or advanceautoparts.com

I just recently had to buy a gasket set for my t3 turbo. Try to go there and ask for a t3 gasket set. You won't find it. I looked up the part number for a thunderbird turbo or for the volvo turbo. Went with it and a day latter had my gasket set. I did not have to give them any info, just the part number.

I did the same thing for the exhaust manifold gasket. Just looked up the felpro part number and gave it to the guy.

I had a similar problem at Home Depot. I'm trying to find metric bolts for my manifold and wastegate. I'm sure it was a funny sight, a guy with an orange shopping cart with a big 'ol turbo and a manifold on the basket. Anyhow, the guy asked me what it was for. I was like a project, He kept insisting. When I told him it was for a car, he told me they did not have them that I had to go to an autoparts store. I told him NO, they are right here. Just got to find the right thread and I'm good. He kept watching over me because he did not want me to open the little plastic packages.....

yep. just had to bring a starter in for warranty replacement. took them 20 mins to figure out how to exchange it. another 15 to find the part. get home and instal the starter. try to install it....wrong one...my ride left for work so im stranded at home. i call the parts store, ask them to make sure that they have one for a z6 instock. guy gets all pissy, looks at his computer. gets smartass and says i knew that i gave you the starter for a honda 2.2 ltr.......im life WTF. since when do 2.2ltr starters work on my z6. then he gets even more pissed when he realizes he sucks at life.

Yeah, it sucks dealing with idiots that dont know whats what. At the nissan dealer ship (only place to buy the correct spark plugs for the vg30dett) the computer says the spark plugs needed are the NA plugs, but the NA plugs are the wrong one, so you have to tell them you want the other one. and they'll insist that the NA are right.

HMT needs to open a chain of parts stoes only run by people that are members and know what they are talking about.
