It's very important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009. I just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program. Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar!
To find out about this - go to any government web site and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.
Basically make's it illegal to own a firearm-ny rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless it is registered.
You are fingerprinted.
You supply a current driver's license.
You supply your social security #.
You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing.
Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25. Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.
There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.
They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.
If you think this is a joke - go to the web site and take your pick of many options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this.

Just contacted my Senators on this.
Glad you brought this up. Guns in good hands mean less police officers needed and therefore less tax dollars you have to pay. Not to mention, criminals are going to have guns, law or not. Therefore crimes go up as they know people are defenseless.

I think people are getting fed up here lately with all the bailout BS. Something like that passes and the revolution may be on.
Gun owners help keep this country safe. If crooks knew nobody was armed with anything more than a butter knife like the dems would like to limit us to, what do you think would happen to the crime rates, rapes, and murders?

I don't think that bill is constitutional, it basically declares any gun ownership illegal unless you have a special license which can be denied to you for pretty much whatever they decide, which also means that if you already own guns and don't your license within (i think it says 45 days) you are subject to a max 5 year prison term.
So lets see, that takes care of the 2nd and 4th amendments but if you read the full bill alot of that ---- is just plain wrong, like theres something that says you have to be able to prove that your guns cannot be accessed by children and be subject to random inspections, also if it IS possible that they are accessible your faced with some rediculous *** punishment including confiscation of said firearms.
Frankly if that passes, the federal government will have effectively declared war on its citizens.
