why is this.

why is this.
I had posted my setup and someone mentioned that a b16 tranny on my setup would be faster. How does a lower ratio tranny help me out when pushing a near 210 pounds (im guessing) of torque to the wheels.
delsol
b16a2 with s80 tranny (ls)
p30 ecu
stage 3 6 puck clutch sprung
3" turbo back exhaust
uberdata
450cc dsm
13"wheels(11.? lbs) from a miata with cheater tires
t3/t4 turbo
9psi
forgot to mention
12lbs fly wheel
pulley kit

Re: why is this.
it will accelerate faster because the gears arnt as tall. gearing matters allot. the closer the gears in the car the faster youl accelerate but youl loose your top speed but the "top speed" in theroy for an ls tranny is so high it doesnt matter. its just going to take less work for your engine to get though the gears since it doesnt have to apply as much work twards pulling the car. its kinda like having extra gears in a way. like trying to shift 1/3/5 then shifting 1/2/3/4/5/ insted the cars not going to be able to power though 1/3/5/ as easy because its a wider gearing ratio. the ls is geared twards fuel ecnomoy so its going to utilize lower rpms in the gearing so it uses less gass. bah i suck at explaining

just because your in boost for a long time doesnt mean your car is faster. as rawr said the ls tranny is geared so long because its fuel efficient and the torque on ls motors helps this. the higher you stay in your power band between shifts makes the car faster. bahhh i dont know i suck at explaining too. but for sure. a b16 or gsr tranny will make the car a whole lot faster than with an ls tranny

WEell the ls trans is needed if you have 400+ whp and run large slicks. For a street car the vtec trans is always the choice. The ls trans thang was started by alot of people who just assumed but if its all you got go for it just make more power.
