It may be different where u live but in Indiana if u dont give consent to search a dog can be called to the scene. Trust me I work for a Police Department and have read many case law regarding k9 searchs

I was once searched by CID (undercover cops in the UK). I was looking dodgy, they came up and asked me what was in my bag (it was full of books). I opened my bag and they started asking for my details, i told them to leave me alone.

They asked me why, i told them i ------- hate the police. I apologised with some bullshit about having a bad day and then they started threatening me with a full search. I was straight, said i had nothing of interest to them and they walked off calling me a ----. This was at a time when i'd normally have about an 8th on me and had about 30 plants.
