Just because they are a new metal band doesn't mean they are "nu metal".....I hate that bullshit as much as the next guy, but for someone to compair this band to real nu metal bands (pod, linkin park, etc...) would be bullshit.

P.O.D. isn't nor ever was Nu Metal.

Mushroom Head, Older Mudvayne, Korn, Slipknot. That's all Nu Metal Garbage, even the first System of a Down album qualifies as Nu Metal, though that album is sweet.

This crap is most definitely Nu Metal; Down tuning, repetitive "chugging" riffs, lame cliché choruses that harken to those who are dissented for no apparent reason as well as emotional conflict over menial personal relationships.

Not to mention all the while being completely controlled creatively by their record label, which is fine because they probably ran out of what creativity they never had a long time ago.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=j17CRvHfzGA ....not good or new, just a ripoff of the same repetitive ---- that was started a long time ago, if you want that style music you need to listen to the much better bands that play it...opeth, deicide, cannibal corpse, six feet under, amon amarth, napalm death, the list goes on.... or if you want to hear some all around good music look for "at the gates" (anything off the slaughter of the soul album, it has the best recording quality of their albums) or "carcass"

As far as your friend's band, they suck. yes I listened to the whole song and it was terrible. Just because he is your friend doesn't mean you have to support his shitty music.

Dying Fetus is one of the best Death Metal bands to start from the Mid 90's, even the newest album is good, War of Attrition. Opeth is ------- recent, as well as not very good musically, Deicide and their preachy *** singer can eat a dick, talk about repetitive bands, you'll hear the name Deicide.

And if you put ------- Amon Amarth in with Cannibal Corpse you obviously fail at Death Metal. If you want to talk about originators you can't skip passed Possessed, and then into the nineties with Pestilence, Death, Cynic, Cryptopsy, as well as the rest of the Tampa Death Metal scene.

Seriously, ------- Amon Amarth is a joke, as is Six Feet Under (their cover of back in black made me want to punch pregnant women), as is the wave of terrible ------- 'core' that was adopted by that same crowd at the same time.

There's a host of new death metal that is great, and not getting the recognition it deserves, mostly because a lot of the ---- that's popular is easier to sell/ has a "catch factor".

And if you want ------- Viking Metal, Ensiferum > Amon Amarth. Seriously

from your post it sounds like you like cannibal corpse, yet you hate six feet under....the founding member/lead singer (for 7ish years) of cannibal corpse is the founding member/lead singer of six feet under. Lyrically they are different but musically they sound the same.

Corpsegrinder is ------- hilarious, SFU isn't bad just ------- boring. Besides CC newer stuff is better overall imho, even though all the WoW dorks latched on to it.
