Maybe in your area, every lake, ocean, etc that I've EVER been to allows 2 strokes and will continue to allow them until 2012. Once 2012 rolls around all 2 strokes must meet 2006 emissions standards. So basically if I buy a 2006 2 stroke jet ski I can ride it to 2012 and beyond unless they ---- with the laws until then. Here's some good reading:

I'm really considering the GP1300R from Yamaha since it's still a 2 stroke but I really don't want to have to deal with buying an old ski. It's also a good bit cheaper than the Seadoo. I probably will buy a second ski after I buy a boat..but right now I only need one.

2 strokes are only banned in homo tree hugging states.If I were in the market for a jet ski though I would go with the turbo Honda.I dont think it would take too much to make it "faster"

23 feet,2 engines,280hp.It tops out at 50 and thats pretty fast for the water.Especially on a windy day when its rough and choppy

I used to ride an older polaris, they were alot of fun...I think the old small one I used to ride maxed at 63mph on a perfectly smooth river with my big *** on it. Jumping houseboat wakes was alot of fun.

On another note, the new yamahas look nice, but they seem to be low on the hp totem pole.

I had a 96 sea doo 650 xp, and for the one year I had it, I spend over $650 on parts for the pos. It wasnt the fastest but it went alright. I had to put a new flywheel and driveshaft in it, since the spined shaft decided to srtip out inside the flywheel.

Werd, a lot of people are totally retarded on the water. Infact I just got back from vacation and where I went there were tons of blue jet skis with white numbers on the front (rentals). The people went WOT in the no wake zones and were all ------- around in the same spot very close to each other. That's a good way to die, I've seen it first hand.

Anyways the Honda turbo ski only makes 165hp and the Yamaha GP1300R makes 170hp N/A. I believe the Yamaha is a little bit lighter and they both have excellent handling characteristics according to several reviews I've read. I actually haven't seen too many optional parts for the Honda ski but I have seen quite a few for the RXP and the GP1300R.

aww don't hate, but i do think that everyone should have to take a mandated course because some people do ride like complete douschebags. The worst is when families let others use them and then the relatives ---- ---- up because they don't know what they're doing.

I rock an 02 yamaha gp800R with a flame arrestor kit from riva. Not the fastest thing, but it handles so good.
