building muscle requires more rest time
its actually more important to rest then it is to hit the gym and push weights

currently im aiming for 3 times a week
mon- chest and bi's
weds- back and tri's
fri- shoulders and legs

the things i lack are motivcation, sleep, and eating 6 times a day to speed my metobolism

So if someone like me that goes to the gym 4-5 days a week and then someone else same build or what not goes once a month they are going to build muscle quicker then me?

ok, so you say you do chest and arm m/w/f, which is 3 times a week, if another person that only does chest and arms about 4 or 5 times a month, yes, you may notice results a couple weeks quicker than the other person will, but guranteed proven fact that the other person will definitely pass you up and keep getting bigger, not just staying at a plateau, and yes 6'2 and 175, you are kind of scrawny, especially considering that muscle weighs more than fat, that's not saying that you have much muscle

everyone is diffrent. I know people who work out 2 days a week and get huge and stronger than people who work out 3 or 4 times a week. It all depends on the person really. I personally like teh 3 times a week It works for me. It really on the person.

Most of the time it is one hour of weight training and then an hour of cardio or stability exercises. And I agree with Black Dragon it depends the person completely. And I would say that I have a fair amount of muscle and if I dont then I find that it maybe be difficult to be doing reps with 205lbs dont you?

I just think that's to many days for a weekly workout. U need to give ur muscles more time to rest. I'm not a bodybuilder but i like to keep in shape.

not really. i'm 5'10 and weigh about 190 which is 5-10 lbs. more than what i weigh when lifting and mostly soft right now b/c i haven't been lifting for about the past 6-8 months, at my weakest after laying out of the gym for up to a year, i jump right in and do reps with 205, so no, that's not very impressive for someone your size with such an awesome work out routine who has been lifting non stop for what you make out to be some time now

that wasnt what i meant, going to the gym once a month doesnt count as working out in my books

and yes, its dependant to the person
some ppl are blessed with good genitics so they barely have to work out to maintain a toned built body
where as some ppl arent as fortunate and requires alteast 3 times a week just so they dont get fat

Well I have consulted many people and they said that it is not. I was informed it really depends on how long I am normally sore for and if I can increase my blood flow to the muscles I have worked by massaging or going into a hot tub for a short period of time afterwards at the gym then I am not overworking by any means. I stretch very well after my workouts to rid of major muscle tension. There is nothing wrong with the way I work out or else I would 1. Not make any progress or 2. Get hurt.
