I have the 3 issues that showcased that homemade build...and it was on a z6 for the magazine and a puny 2nd gen eclipse t-25 that they had maxed out at 17psi for a whopping 211hp. 
The guy was a complete tool from what I remember, and he also started some project with an ED hatch that was supposed to be mid-engine with NSX front independent suspension and complete NSX engine swap. I think that's the one that never made it past the first article.
