He's an idiot. You see the four thousand whp stock K20 that blew up on the dyno video? As many Honduhs as he's tuned and you hear what he said? "Oh, it boost spiked. That's why it was breaking up on the street earlier." That guy can't figure how to set a boost cut much less decypher a datalog from the street tune to figure out why the car was bucking like a rabid steer. Quality intellect right there. :1

Tell him you will be running it untuned for a while so he can make it uber conservative. You should at elast buy a LC1 or something to monitor air fuel.

I rocked one of Xenocrons basemaps from his library for about 8 months with no problem. Setup was almost identical to mine accept he had a SC34, and it was dyno tuned to 13 psi. Ran great on my SC50 LS on 14psi, never had any issues aside from the normal burning oil caused by assraping a 220k+ miled motor

i know almost nothing about tunning but i know racing around on a basemap is a gamble, myself ive been lucky every map ive used was downloaded off the internet just going by " this looks close" and usually they are pretty decent and i only do one or 2 hard pulls to make sure everything works before i grandma drive it to a tuner

WERD!! If you have a WB02 and a burner, it's not really a basemap. I'm guessing a WB02 isnt the case there though. I plan on fine tuning a basemap.

Why are the vaccuum and boost columns wrong when load all the turboedit basemaps??

I'm going to argue your interpretation on that.

"Tuning" connotes a "tuner," someone who is defined as knowing what they are doing and having their head out of their ***. The tuner's job is 90% to figure out what is completely ------- wrong with a system of parts, and fix it, before spending the other 10% of their time/effort plunking laptop keys.

If you give a dipshit a wideband and a chip burner it's still a basemap in my eyes, regardless of them getting 75% of the tuning procedure right.

What I meant is that if your using a basemap and have a WB you immediately let off the gas if the A/F ratios are bad, pull over and add more fuel. I mean isn't it just adding fuel in the right areas to reach the desired A/F ratio.

This opposed to someone who just throws in a basemap and forgets it.
