Default wheres the love for the new si???

well, i bought an 03' si about two months ago...i have it lowered with an intake. and i was wondering why everyone always bashes on them. saying that they are pathetic and weak and what not. i mean i understand its a slow car (arent most hondas stock) anyway, they always bash on the new si's saying how much slower they are then the 99-00 civics....i raced one and beat it by a good 3 cars. but, i was just wondering if anyone has had any good experience with them.

Well, they look like the focus, and the fact that honda tried to change everything up is why I don't like them.

HONDA EXEC. #1 "Why the hell didn't we see that the d,b, and h series motors were gonna be hot like trading cards? We're not profiting from this trend, the enthusiasts have thier own network."

HONDA EXEC #2 "Sir, we never saw it coming. What can we do to halt evolution, and put destiny in our pockets?

HONDA EXEC #1 "Hmmmm. I got it. We'll change our whole lineup, with different engine configurations, still keep the rsx and civic interchangable. And in 10 years, all the kids will still stay true to Honda, except there won't be anymore b,d, or h series motors around. There will only K series, which will be our new series that we control from today. Get our gooks to work."

That's the way I see it, and I don't like it.

I was just reading about the new Civic SI's the other day... and here's why they are bashing on the new SI's.
Compared to the 99-00 SI's, the new SI's are slower 0-60 by almost a full second.

"For VTEC aficionados, the '02 Civic Si, which is the only American-model Civic to use the three-door body, will take some getting used to. Acura Integra GS-Rs and Type-Rs, Honda Preludes, and the most recent Si have conditioned us to expect certain things, such as a furious rush of power and mechanized adrenaline as the VTEC system switches to the big cam lobes for high-rpm operation.

The new 2.0-liter doesn't do that. Apparently, Honda has sided with critics bothered by the high, narrow power band of the old engines. The redline in this one is down to 6800 from 8000 in the old engine, but torque is increased by 20 percent to 132 pound-feet, peaking at 5000 rpm. As is the rest of the car, the engine is tuned for easy real-world use with a linear power delivery throughout the rev range. This is generally an admirable approach but the unintended consequence is that the new Si is slower to 60 mph by almost a full second than the quickest '99-to-'00 model we tested. Yes, it carries 156 more pounds than did the old model, but it's nonetheless disappointing." -Car and Driver http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=3

Its all relative man. true for a tuner/ boostaholic like most of us are this car is not as ready for boost as a stock silvia motor. but as for making a mistake, Mr. Honda is still getting rich. He wasnt thinking about us, bastard.
