I've never dealt will TigerDirect, so thanks for that incite JD. I've built my last 3 computers through NewEgg and they are awesome in every way. If what you say about TigerDirect is true, spend the extra money and go through NewEgg.

Also, aren't they a Canadian company?

JD is right about NewEgg. Not only have I never had a problem with their ----, but their shipping is fast as hell. 3-day UPS usually gets here in 2 days. A friend got a DOA part and they quickly replaced it without any bullshit.

I have always, and will always buy my hardware there.

ATI 4850 is also a very wise choice. It will play crysis decently, is cheap, and you can always set up a crossfire setup with two of them later on when it's not so good anymore and 4850s drop to crackhead prices.

I will also be going with the 4850 or 4870.

As far as the processor, I still feel the Q6600 is the best bang-for-buck. 2.4ghz from the factory and a lot of people have had success overclocking it to 3.2-3.4ghz with your typical cooling upgrades.

Quad core 3.4ghz with plenty of cache for under $200? yes plz

i dealt with tigerdirect a few times, nothing went bad, guess i was lucky.

i was going to go with the e8400 which is a dual core, but i looked around and the q6600 is pretty much the same price, so i said, why the ---- not.

i dont know if you have one of these places near you, but Micro Center ( www.microcenter.com ) has those items for cheap as well.

be patient, wait for a deal on newegg... their customer service is absolutely top notch.

the wolfdale chips are super fast (faster clock per clock than the old conroes) and might be a better bang for the buck. e8500 is at 3.16ghz for only 189. these new graphics cards really like a fast cpu, i have an radeon 4850 and my core2 duo e4300 seems to bottleneck it, compared to my old 1950xt, overclocking it from 2.4 to 3.2 (1.8 stock) got me 1500 more 3dmarks (06) where it was only good for a few hundred on my old card. overclocking my 4850 yeilded very little improvements, leading me to belive it would like a faster cpu. if you were to go with a 4870 or dual 4850's i guarantee youd want something near 4ghz to be able to keep up with the GPUs.

the gigabyte DS3 series of mobos no matter what the chipset is a great line, good pricepoint and the added benefit of all solid state caps. most asus's will only come with solid states on about half of the board (they put it on the more important ones)
