I like how some people are completely content with this while others don't like their $75k job.
This thread shows pretty accurately the pay difference between someone who is college educated and someone who isnt.

Ha. I'm a grad student working on the masters degree in linguistics. I won't be doing too well financially after I finish school. Linguists don't make much.

I work at Propulsion Media Labs, I'm an Audio Producer, making radio and tv comercials right now but i want to break into the record buisness...I've graduated in may and started there in Aug. so not even 3 months yet, making ---- right now, salary $21,000/yr but should get a raise in Dec and I also work a Redner's (grocery store) on the weekends making $11.00/hour...so yea I work 7 days aweek mostly and have one weekend off a months, to many bills and expencive hobbies...Oh well life sucks i need to win the lottery!!

I'm an Aircraft Mechanic with the Air Force, Been doin it for over 7 years. I work on the F-15. Cool job rough on your body, Always outside. (Rain,Heat,and sun) and well thats it here in florida. It gets kinda cold for about 3 months or so. Anyways gonna be medically retired soon. Gonna go to a welding and fabrication class. While my wife stays in and make some dough.

Well, I used to work at Best Buy as a mobile install technician. I had about 7 years in there and was making about $16.25/hr and since I was a supervisor, I had an occasional bonus. I pretty much hated 99% of the time that I spent there, so I partnered up with a guy and we opened our own place and now I am making absolutely nothing We have only been open a little over a year and we basically put everything back into the business. We do take our lunch and ---- everyday and occasionally we will treat ourselves to a couple of parts for our cars, but there is NO salary. My wife is an assistant manager at Best Buy still (best thing I got from that place ) and she makes about $60k a year. I really put a damper on our money by quiting, but hopefully one day it will pay off and I will be able to support her.
