I was looking into an f22 swap into my old crx a couple years ago...any of ya's that have been here for a few years might of remembered me asking questions regarding it. This was pretty much right after bisi dumped his d15 and went to the f22 and I read in a Honda Tuning article about him using the d-series tranny. I liked the idea, so I dropped him a line about the adapter and low and behold he said he planned on marketing them. Well, turned out after a few more emails that it's not just a simple bolt-on-the-adapter-plate deal. I think the adapter itself was going for around $1800, plus you needed a special flywheel to make up for the adapter spacing. Would have been an interesting project had it been cheaper, and when I was looking into it the only answers I could get from cb7 was that I could swap an h23 head, but no one really tried the h22 head at that time. Amazing how far the f-series has come in the past few years.

With my buddy trying the H22 head on F22a block, he heard it might work, so he tried it. Lo and behold, it did.

Is this bisi guy still wanting to market this, or does anyone think he would share his findings on the f/h boltpattern for the bellhousing? I was wanting to design an adaptor plate for the f/h series, but wasn't so sure on my precision with measuring an actual engine to get the dimensions. This would not be something I would be marketing, nor would I probably ever even build one. Just wanted to design it. Anyone know how to get ahold of him?

as soon as i start making real money, im buying a hatch and putting a f22b1 in there w/ a h23 tranny, a holset turbo and as much boost as a stock block will allow. i loved my sohc, nobody believes the tq it makes.

Thread back from the dead... Just wanted to update that I am following through with this project. I sold my old civic (the one with all the windows smashed and doors dented in) to a puerto rican for $900 and bought another red eg hatchback for $775. The new car is minty except for a good amount of the eg cancer in the rear quarters, but i'll be fixing that in the spring. Gotta love the raw, exhilerating 70 ponies breaking loose on the open road. But it does have that all black interior--- sexxx. Might get stripped out anyway though

But I'm now in search of preferably a f22b1 (vtec) from I believe a 93-97 accord. If i come across another obd1 f22 for cheap i'll probably go for it and get a different head later, but I'm pretty sure I want to stick with an sohc head for sleeper purposes, although the jdm f22 dohc head (same as h23 head) is pretty tempting too. Updates to come when I find the engine. I wanna start buying ---- soooo bad but i need to make sure i can get the engine and tranny first.

In the market for:
--f22b1, or a mix n match of f22's
--h23 tranny
--possibly forged rods n pistons, limited slip diff
--clutch... probably lsd motorsports
--suspension setup

2.2l 8.8 compression SOHC FTW!!!
