I bought a B16 head for my ls/vtec a few months ago. The guy told me it was a B16A2 head off of a JDM 99 Si-R ll in Japan. However I was just looking at it and the stamping says it was made in 91? It's definately from Japan, but does this stamping mean that its not a B16A2 from an Si-R ll or what? Instead is it an B16A1 off an Si-R? I mean if the A1 and A2 flow and produce the same numbers I guess I dont mind but I am Pissed that it might not be what I was impressioned it was. If any knowledgable person can help me out with these quesions I'd greatly appreciate it

Also if it is from a 91 B16A1 PLEASE tell me it will make the same numbers in my ls/vtec setup that a B16A2 head would

Theyre basically the same nothing to get mad about. You would never notice a difference between the two.

and would my code be the A2 like the 99-00 even though its older seeing as how Japan has everything for years before it comes to the states?

dont quote me but Im pretty sure that the A2 cams were changed alittle for topend, and the A1's died off alittle to soon in the rpm range. but besides that I think they are the same spec wise.

Japan and the UK had B16A2's from 1991 Mine is a 1992 B16A2.
