Default What uses 20 headbolts on one head?

I did my first VR6 teardown last night. I believe that if God was to sit down with Otto, they would have come up with something like this. Seven main bearings, cast iron block, fully-guided chain drive timing... But I think it has three water pumps and that bothers me. Anyway, yeeesh, these are cool. I really hate Volkswagen cars, but this was something I enjoyed. Maybe it's the drugs?

Oh yeah and ---- Crower because my 4agze rods are "shelf stock" and they can't finish them until March.

vr6 is a nice engine, but most volkswagens are a royal pain to work on... mostly because nothing makes alot of sense. I was working on my friends 91 jetta and the damn thing has the pressure plate between the engine and flywheel, not between the flywheel and tranny... how wierd. Also it has bolts for the wheels, no studs... stoopid stuff
