Default what tranny spins counter clockwise?

miatas are out, what way does the sr20 turn? or what about other nissans? i imagine the rx7 is out as well if the miata is. just doing some research for a possible project and thought i'd see if anyone can point me out some cc spinning trannies.

I dont know of any rear wheel drive trannys that are designed for a cc turning engine. How about making the engine turn clockwise?

S2000? I'm just guess from how the intake and exhaust are setup. I'm probably totally wrong on this so I'll shutup. lol

how does that help if the engine spins reverse of the tranny? I dont think you can spin a trans backwards *reliably*

"Good", you mean like straight cut gears.


Helical cut gear trans are designed to handle the force one way generally. A honda trans turned CW would just die a painful death. The mainshaft would eject itself out the side of the case with any real power applied.

I'm not saying its right but there have been many b series cars with "fliped diffs" and backward running trans across the pond :1

What about a VW transaxle The air cooled ---- CCW?Torque tube it or something Corvette style.
