This is definitely not true.
Nowhere in US law does it say that it is illegal to modify your car. As long as your car passes the inspection and emission tests, I know for a fact that in PA its not illegal

As long as your car passes the inspection and emission tests, I know for a fact that in PA its not illegalall states have area's where they test and don't test. its done by population and growth in the region. i don't have to and i am going to be buying a house soon but al lookign in teh areas of my state near me that have no testing due to just the fact i want my copper project car to be street legal. how ever my red car pictured below passed emisions on 15psi with no cat and just an N1 muffler.

No they can't. There are laws in effect to keep the car you drive safe for the roads and to keep pollution levels down. There's no where in the vehicle code that says "everything on your car must remain OEM or we will cut your ball off" So I know for a fact that in PA anything you do to the motor is legal as long as it abides by the current emissions laws. And if you dive your car under 5,000miles a year the inspection places don't even need to pop the hood.

in jersey they dont pop your hood anyway...the cool part about our inspection stickers is that they are two parts...an inside part with the month and your vin info, and an outside colored part with the year...so you just grab one off a junker and put it on your car

Hell, all they check is headlights, taillights, blinkers, reverse lights, horn, and that it actually cranks.
and now they just passed the law where you have to have your tint checked to get a insp. sticker. even legal tint (35%) isn't passing the new cards/meters.... mine was 15%, checked @ 11%... 8 mos later i got it removed.... *******.
