Remember kids, kerosene won't detonate at 12K rpms! Neither will a non-vetch at the same hp and better torque with the proper thermal management.

Re: what is the point
it gives you enough high rpm PoW3R with the "fast" cam while keeping your low rpm power with the "low" cam
LS block has longer stroke, gives your more low end tork but power dies out at like 5500ish rpm..
Factory VtHeC motor has shorter stroke, allows it to rev higher but produce less tork at low rpm.
So u mix them up and creat a motor that has good low end tork yet makes good high end power.
.......something like that :P

Difference between LS and GSR rod/stroke ratio is ---- all.
Difference between LS and B16 "with better flowing head" when boosted is ---- all.
Boosted LS starts dropping torque around 4500-4800, and it's power curve is totally flat 6500-7000 before power drops off. Unless you have Web billet cams + Crower valvetrain, like my boy Speedy, so your LS's torque peak is 6400 and power doesn't drop off until 6800 rpm because that's when Jack at P1 lifts off the throttle despite being told to hold it in until 8000 rpm because said cams are good to 8500.
Wait I got that last part wrong - they aren't Speedy's head/cams/valvetrain anymore.

what is the differance?
want to know because i ot a whole ls for free and i am going to turbo it later.
There is lots of information on this big place called the INTERNET, lots of write ups on how to do ls/vtecs etc etc. Good luck
